We do require all drivers have their own full coverage insurance. We define full coverage insurance as comprehensive, collision, and liability coverage. Often times we are asked if the insurance offered by Credit Cards can be used as sole insurance coverage, but unfortunately that kind of coverage does not meet our requirements.
2. Can I travel out of state?
Yes! You can travel anywhere within the Continental U.S. but cannot go into Canada or Mexico.
3. Do your vehicles have navigation?
No, we do not typically have vehicles that have navigation as a feature, however, our fleet is able to use Apple Carplay if you have an iPhone, allowing you to use that for navigation.
4. Do your vehicles have a GPS?
Yes. All of our units have a GPS that is used for collecting Safety and Service data, as well as the ability to find the car if lost or stolen. No personal data is recorded from phones connected via Bluetooth to any of our vehicles.
5. Do you have EZ Passes?
No, we do not currently offer EZ Passes in our vehicles, but you are welcome to bring your own and use it.
6. What happens if I break down or have an accident?
Every rental comes with Toyota 24-hour roadside assistance that covers the entire U.S., by calling 800-599-6766 and providing the Rental Agreement number at the top right of the contract. If the car needs repair, it would be towed to the nearest Toyota Dealership to be evaluated.
7. Can more than one person drive?
Yes, up to 2 additional drivers can be added to a rental contract. They must also meet our qualifications of being 21 years old, having a valid driver’s license with no restrictions, and having full coverage insurance. Fun Fact: The primary driver’s spouse is already considered an additional driver without being added to the rental contract, as long as, they also meet our driver qualifications.
8. What’s the longest I can rent?
Our rental contracts are good for a maximum of 30 days. There are some instances where renters will be allowed to rent longer than 30 days, but it must be approved by a manager and a new rental contract would be required. Renters may not exceed 90 days total.
9. Can I leave my vehicle at McGeorge Toyota while I rent?
Yes! You are welcome to leave your vehicle here while renting. We ask that it be parked in the center spaces of our back lot. An employee can help you find the right parking spot when you pickup your rental.
10. Is smoking allowed in your rentals?
No. There is no smoking, cigars, cigarettes, marijuana, or vaping allowed in our vehicles. If a vehicle comes back smelling like smoke or any other substance like heavy perfume, air freshener, baby powder, etc we reserve the right to charge the $200 cleaning fee, as it will take more than a standard cleaning to make that unit rentable for the next customer.
11. What happens if I get a ticket while in the rental?
All renters are responsible for any toll violations, automated speed trap violations, parking violations, and all other traffic violations. Those citations are issued to our vehicles, not specific drivers, and so are paid immediately as received by our accounting department. You as a renter, are then billed for the cost of the citation.
12. Can I return the rental at a different Toyota Dealership?
No. All Rent a Toyota programs are run at each dealership individually, and are not a shared resource, therefore they must be returned to the same Toyota Dealership they are picked up from.
